The following statements were formulated within the school community by consensus and reflect the values and beliefs that underpin all operations at Maryborough Central State School.

  • We believe that the individual child is a focal point of learning within our school community.
  • We believe that each child's learning style is considered in the provision of opportunities to enhance his/her emotional, academic and physical development.
  • We believe that effective communication amongst all members of the school community is an essential mechanism in successfully catering for the individual child's needs.
  • We value the opinions of all school community members.
  • We make every effort to provide an environment that is clean, safe, healthy and stimulating.
  • We encourage a mutually respectful, friendly environment in which children are exposed to and participate in a variety of social contexts where social tolerance is developed.
  • We aim to provide children with an emotional environment which fosters security; happiness; consistency; and stability to enhance the development of self-control and the opportunity for emotional growth.
  • We believe that all children should have access to the relevant physical and human resources and services that foster individual growth and development
  • We believe that the curriculum provides children with the opportunities to develop skills and attitudes which will enable them to participate in life-long learning.
  • We believe that teachers should continually update and enhance their professional expertise.
  • We are committed to the provision of educational experiences that promote the characteristics of equity, effectiveness, participation, responsiveness and public accountability.
