Maryborough Central State School

Central School’s Chess stars competed in the Term 1 - 2009 Primary School’s Chess Tournament last week. 51 students made up the 14 teams from around the region who competed. We are very proud to announce that our first team (including Cameron, Brayden, Nick and Charlie) walked away second overall in the tournament, and our second team came 5th. In the individual rankings Cameron Dale was placed a tie for fourth and Nick Slade a tie for fifth! Congratulations kids! All of that practice at lunch time really paid off!! The next tournament is due to be conducted in Term 2. It will be at the same venue and teams will be decided based on performance in chess games at school.
