Health and Physical Education
These classes are held every week for students to participate in a structured progression of learning from Gross Motor Movements, Manipulation Activities, Modified Game Components & Full Sport Units. This scaffold allows each child to learn the fundamental skills in isolation in the lower year levels and progress to full sports in the upper school year levels.
By the end of Year 6, Central School Students would have had multiple opportunities to develop and learn specific components of each sport. The components that are repeated through each sport are (defending strategies, attacking strategies, positions, rules, and skill techniques).
Students in years 4-6 will also engage in discussions and activities that allows students to learn about the effects of physical activity on the body during and after the event.
Students will engage in various fitness tests and activities designed to give students a personal reflection of their health and fitness at this point in time. All test results will be private to encourage self-reflection instead of peer judgement.
All of this learning is aimed at giving students the skills and knowledge and understanding required to maintain an active and healthy life.

This area is a pathway for students to learn, participate, compete and be selected for various sports. Students between the ages of 10-12 will have the opportunity to participate in inter-school sport in Term 1 & Term 4. This program is designed to allow students to compete against other schools and practise all of the skills and knowledge they have learnt in P.E. lessons. Selections for each sport will be held at after school trials or during inter-school sport competitions.
