Welcome to Maryborough Central State School

Our students' job is to learn and  every teachers' job is to teach. Central staff and I are always keen to evaluate and improve on our practices. We constantly monitor the progress of student learning and the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.

This year, we will continue to work to develop and embed our school's pedagogical framework, based on the Art and Science of Teaching (ASOT) and C2C, Queensland Education's interpretation of the National Curriculum (ACARA). We are making solid progress with the implementation of the Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support framework. The aim of both of these initiatives is to buy back quality teaching time, thus ensuring improved learning outcomes for our students.

Congratulations to our 2014 P&C Committee members. Mrs Samantha Murree  continues as our President, and Mrs Lucinda Briscoe as our Secretary. Mrs  Rachel Saxby has taken on the role of Treasurer, and we are still searching for a Vice-President! Planning for Central Fair is underway.  Please mark Friday 22 August on your calendars for a great fun, family evening.

In Term 3, we will undergo a Teaching, Learning and Discipline Audit by an external auditor. I am looking forward to receiving valuable feedback through this process. We will also conduct our Quadrennial School Review. It's time to examine what we've achieved in the last four years, and to make a plan for the next four. Parents, students, staff and community members will be invited to give their views. I look forward to working in partnership with everyone this year.

Mrs Lee Lilburne, Principal
